I started out teaching at the age of 23 after graduating from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry.   I began teaching at Hunt Middle School in Tacoma as an emergency substitute teacher and have been working as an educator for the past 28 years.  I have served as a teacher for 19 years, Dean of Students for 5 years and Assistant Principal for 4 years.  My career has spanned many districts including Tacoma, Kent, Clover Park, Othello, Moses Lake, Port Angeles,  Seattle and Duvall Public Schools in Jacksonville, Florida where I taught 6th grade science at Stilwell Middle School.  I have been married for 28 years and have 3 kids including 2 sons ages 23 and 26, a daughter age 25 and 2 granddaughters, ages 5 years and 1 month. 😊
