Things to Know:

  • » Do you speak a language other than English? You can get high school credits by taking the STAMP test!
    •      • This World Language Proficiency Test is for students who can understand: 
      •      - Ideas on familiar topics expressed through phrases, sentences, and frequently used expressions
      •      - The main idea and details in texts that contain familiar vocabulary
      •      - Exchanging information with another person about familiar topics and activities
      •      - Using phrases and sentences to provide basic information about familiar topics
      •      - Writing descriptions and messages and request or provide information on familiar topics
          • Testing is currently available in Arabic, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Simplified,      Mandarin Traditional, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Somali Maay Maay, Somali Maxaa, Filipino (Tagalog), Samoan, Vietnamese and Punjabi.
    •     The test will be held on January 13th, 2021 at Puyallup Digital Learning. TESTING BEGINS AT 9:30AM SHARP and takes about 4 hours. (Photo ID required at check-in) Makeup testing date will be January 25th.
    •     • Cost is $25 for the test. A sliding scale is available for students who qualify (ask your counselors if you qualify!)
    •     • Registration Deadline is January 8th! Contact Ms. Richardson or Ms. Flaherty if you are interested in getting registered.
    •     • ASVAB stands for Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery
      •      - It’s a multiple-choice test that helps you identify which Army jobs (Military Occupational Specialties) would be best for you.
    •     • If you have not yet passed or taken the SBA, this is another option to count towards your graduation requirements (if you pass with a score of 31 or higher).
    •     • Test start times at 10am and 1pm
    •     • Slots are filling up fast!
    •     • Contact Ms. Flaherty or Ms. Richardson to sign up.

  •     • Diploma students: You should be past 50% completion in your Edgenuity courses at this point. Make sure you’re putting in 1 hour per class per day (Monday-Friday)
  •     • GED students: Have you received your packet from Ms. Richardson yet? Reply to this email or contact her directly to let us know.
  •     • In case you forgot, you are expected to show up on time every week to your Life Success class on Zoom with your camera on. Attendance is mandatory and part of the requirement to be in the POD program, and as long as you show up and participate…you get credit!
